    Salary: £37,372 - £41,525 + Excellent Benefits
    Location: Hybrid with national travel
    Contract: Permanent Full-time

We're working with a government-backed organisation that delivers nationally significant environmental programmes, and they're looking to appoint a Project Planner to strengthen their Environment Programme Delivery Office.
This role will suit someone with a background in project planning and scheduling who wants to step into a role with genuine long-term security, exposure to senior stakeholders, and one of the best public sector benefits packages available.

    The Role
As Project Planner, you'll provide the planning, scheduling and reporting expertise that underpins programme success. Day-to-day you'll:
    • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules across a portfolio of environmental projects.
    • Track progress, produce forecasts, and prepare reports for senior decision-makers.
    • Support programme governance by preparing pre-gate reviews and ensuring readiness for assurance.
    • Work with project managers to build capability and embed planning best practice.
    • Liaise with key external stakeholders including DEFRA, DESNZ and the Environment Agency.
    What We're Looking For
    • Experience in project or programme planning, ideally within infrastructure, engineering, or environmental programmes.
    • Strong working knowledge of project planning tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar).
    • Good understanding of project governance, risk management, and reporting.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders.
    • Detail-driven, organised and able to manage competing priorities.
    What's On Offer
While the base salary is £37,372 - £41,525, the overall package is where this opportunity stands out:
    • Outstanding civil service pension scheme with an employer contribution of around 29%.
    • 27.5 days annual leave, plus up to 6 additional days and 8 public holidays.
    • Flexible working arrangements - job share, compressed hours, or partial home working.
    • Funding for professional development and one annual membership subscription.
    • Comprehensive wellbeing support, including health checks, monthly wellbeing allowance and an employee assistance programme.
    • Additional benefits such as free parking, on-site refreshments, staff recognition schemes and employee discounts.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planner looking to secure a permanent role with stability, career development, and benefits that outshine most of the private sector.
