    Salary negotiable and will depend on experience, upto £50k depending on experience

    The Role:
    • To ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation
    • Monitor and control costs of the HS&E Department
    • Review and interpret relevant existing and new legislation and directives
    • Establish methods and procedures for managers to ensure compliance
    • Advise management on the action that is necessary for compliance
    • Liaise, co-ordinate and prepare for meetings with relevant regulatory bodies such as the
    • Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Agency, Emergency Services
    • To develop cooperative and understanding working relationships with insurance and brokers
    • Investigate incidents, accidents and external complaints
    • Either personally or by monitoring the follow-up actions of relevant managers
    • Maintain, update and administer the central library of HS&E information
    • Develop and maintain a system for recording, collating and filing all correspondence
    • Co-ordinate occupational health arrangements
    • Including routine medicals, preemployment medicals and Occupational Exposure monitoring
    • Ensure employee occupational health records are maintained by the Occupational Health Consultant
    • Identify and develop systems for the administration and control of HSE and related costs and resources
    • Obtain and maintain environmental data for IPPC authorisation
    • Complete/initiate risk assessments whenever and wherever necessary (e.g. COSHH, Noise, Manual Handling, VDU) and review these where appropriate
    • Participate in HAZOP/SIS meetings as necessary for existing, modified or new plants and processes
    • Produce and carry out HS&E audit schedules and inspections for the site
    • Co-ordinate, facilitate and chair HS&E Committee meetings, liaise with Dept Safety Reps
    • Attend venues, seminars and meetings
    • Produce reports and collate statistics and information on HS&E in the Company
    • To lead the Company's quality certification processes to ensure compliance with national and international technical/quality standards and legislation
    • To be fully conversant with the requirements of all the company's required standards currently ISO 9001, FSSC22000 (HACCP), Kosher and Halal
    • To establish, plan, implement and maintain formalised quality monitoring/review/audit
    • procedures for compliance with internal and external quality standards. This requires

    Monday to Friday - 35 hours between 8am and 5pm
