As the Environmental, Energy and Sustainability (EES) Manager, you will take the lead on delivering the EES agenda for the Corby site, representing the leadership team to make sure legal and business requirements are met. The role focuses on making sure the right controls, processes and behaviours are in place, while also identifying where improvements are needed and seeing those through to completion.
You will lead and support local EES teams, stay involved in day to day site activity through regular meetings, and coordinate reporting for environmental incidents and investigations, including engagement with regulators where needed. You will also be closely involved in contractor management, with responsibility for areas such as waste, supplier compliance, RAMS, permits and task reviews.
The role includes leading area and departmental EES focus teams, supporting the delivery of site and TSUK management system requirements, and ensuring audits, accreditations and actions are completed and followed up properly. You will represent the site within TSUK HSSE forums and initiatives, and carry out occasional cross site audits to share good practice.
A key part of the role is supporting the site's decarbonisation and energy improvement plans, including identifying opportunities to reduce reliance on gas furnaces and improve energy efficiency. You will also look for more sustainable ways of working, develop business cases where appropriate, and support the delivery of improvement projects.
This role plays an important part in ensuring that Corby operates safely, responsibly and sustainably, while continuing to meet operational demands.
You will role report to the Corby Works Manager / Operations Director, with additional functional reporting lines to the Tata Steel UK central leads for Environment and Process Sustainability. The role manages one or more Environmental, Energy and Sustainability Advisors and provides support and direction to site EES teams and committees. Regular interaction is required with site departments and leadership teams, TSUK working groups, vendors and contractors, as well as regulators and other external bodies.
As the Environmental, Energy and Sustainability Manager you should have proven experience in an environmental, energy and/or sustainability leadership role.
