  • Help shape Climate and Environmental Justice in London

City Bridge Foundation is recruiting Advisory Group members. This is a paid opportunity to advise, challenge and strengthen how one of London's largest charitable funders tackles climate and environmental injustice.

    • Contract: Initial one-year appointment, with the possibility of extension for up to two further years
    About the opportunity

City Bridge Foundation is London's largest independent charitable funder. Through grants, social investment, and wider action, we support communities experiencing structural inequality across the capital.

Our ten-year Standing with Londoners funding policy focuses on four interconnected justice areas, including Climate and Environmental Justice. We recognise that climate and environmental harms are not experienced equally, and that communities contributing least to these problems are often the most affected.

We are particularly interested in perspectives that connect environmental issues with social and economic justice. The first round of funding launched in July 2026 and awards will be made in January 2027. More information can be found on the Climate and Environmental Justice funding pages.

We are establishing an Advisory Group to act as independent critical friends to our Climate and Environmental Justice funding programme: offering strategic advice, constructive challenge and insight rooted in community realities. Members' insights and perspectives will help shape our funding and social investment activity and inform decisions made through City Bridge Foundation's formal governance arrangements.

    Who we are looking for

We are seeking 6-8 members who, together, bring a strong mix of lived experience, community knowledge and specialist expertise. You do not need to meet every criterion.

    • Lived experience and community insight: Direct experience of climate or environmental injustice, or deep links with grassroots and community networks.
    • Frontline or sector expertise: Experience working in civil society or funding sector in environmental, climate, community, housing, health or related work.
    • Systems, policy or structural insight: Understanding of power, institutions, advocacy, policy or systems change.
    • Research or learning: Experience of evaluation, participatory approaches, innovation, or adaptive practice.
    • Public sector or finance perspective: Insight from local government, public systems, social enterprise, social investment or sustainable finance.

We particularly welcome expressions of interest from people whose voices are often underrepresented in decision making. We're keen to hear from people who understand how climate and environmental issues affect people's daily lives and who bring a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-centred working.

We are a Disability Confident employer and positively welcome applications from disabled people.
