    Working Hours

    Monday to Friday, typically 07:30-17:00

    The Job

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practical and motivated Environmental Technician to join a growing specialist environmental services business. This is a hands on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, travelling to different locations and working as part of a close-knit team. You will support a range of environmental, vegetation management and remediation projects across the UK, with full training provided. The role would suit candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including environmental services, agriculture, landscaping, groundworks, construction, forestry, vegetation management or general site operations.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Carrying out herbicide treatments to invasive plant species, with training provided
    • Cutting, clearing and processing vegetation
    • Supporting mechanical remediation and groundworks projects
    • Assisting with the installation of root barriers and other site-based solutions
    • Operating site machinery such as dumpers and excavators, subject to training and competency
    • Working safely around sensitive environmental and wildlife areas
    • Communicating professionally with clients, contractors and other site personnel
    • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
    • Travelling to sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays
    The Candidate
    • Full UK driving licence
    • Strong work ethic and reliable approach
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
    • Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work in all weather conditions
    • Professional attitude when working on client sites
    Desirable
    • CSCS card
    • Dumper or excavator qualification
    • PA1, PA6 or PA6AW spraying qualifications
    • Experience in vegetation management, landscaping, agriculture, forestry, groundworks or construction
    • Basic knowledge of site machinery
    • Chainsaw or woodchipper experience
    • Asbestos awareness
    • SSSTS or SMSTS
    • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
    • Banksman or CAT & Genny training
    • Interest in environmental management or invasive species
    The Package
    • Salary from £28,000+, depending on experience
    • 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays, increasing with length of service

    Candidate Requirements

    All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
