    For our Client, a leading international engineering contractor, we are recruiting for the position of:

    Electrical Quantity Surveyor - Power & Renewables

    Location: Glasgow, Scotland

    Your responsibilities

    As Electrical Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of high-voltage electrical projects, including substations, switchgear installations and cable works.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • preparing budgets, bills of quantities, forecasts and commercial reports;
    • managing project cost control and financial performance;
    • preparing interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts;
    • managing subcontractor accounts, payments, retentions and contract obligations;
    • measuring and pricing variations, dayworks and site changes;
    • maintaining accurate commercial records and supporting documentation;
    • identifying commercial risks, cost increases and potential claims;
    • working closely with Project Managers, planners and engineering teams;
    • monitoring progress and its impact on project costs;
    • supporting commercial meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors;
    • ensuring that all completed work is correctly captured and included in project claims.
    Requirements
    • a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline;
    • relevant Quantity Surveying experience within construction, engineering, utilities or electrical infrastructure;
    • knowledge of cost control, valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts;
    • a practical understanding of construction contracts and commercial obligations;
    • excellent communication, negotiation and record-keeping abilities;
    • the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities;
    • good attention to detail and commercial awareness;
    • a good command of English;
    • existing legal eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.

    An electrical trade or engineering background will be an advantage.

    Previous experience with HV substations, switchgear, cable installation or Power & Renewables projects will be highly beneficial.
