Environmental Consents Manager

    • Lead the identification, planning, tracking, submission and approval of environmental consents, including but not limited to; ordinary watercourse consents, discharge permits, abstraction licenses, Flood Risk Activity Permits and Medium Combustion Plant Permits.
    • Liaise with Regulators; Environment Agency (EA), CL:AIRE & Local Planning Authorities.
    • Manage the preparation, coordination, and submission of consent applications, discharge documentation, management plans and supporting technical information.
    • Ensure timely discharge of consent conditions, including Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) planning conditions, Environmental Permits, water-related EA consents & other statutory approvals.
    • Maintain and update the project's environmental consents register, ensuring; requirements, tasks,milestones, dependencies, risk items and deadlines are accurately recorded and monitored.
    • Provide technical advice and guidance on environmental consenting requirements, legislative obligations and regulatory processes to project teams, delivery teams and senior management.
    • Act as a key liaison with regulators, statutory consultees, local authorities, consultants, designers, project managers and other stakeholders to support effective and timely consenting outcomes.
    • Identify, assess, manage and communicate consent-related risks, constraints, dependencies and opportunities, escalating issues where required and supporting mitigation planning.
    • Comprehensively handover post-consent obligations to the Environment and Delivery Teams.
    • Drive continuous improvement in environmental consents management processes, systems, reporting and lessons learned.
    • Communicate legislative and compliance requirements clearly across different technical and project disciplines to ensure a consistent and compliant delivery approach.

    Qualifications
    • Degree Qualified or related discipline (or experience equivalent to a degree; at least 4 years).
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging effectively with regulators, consultants, contractors and internal teams.
    • Experience producing environmental consent applications for submission to the Environment Agency.
    • Experience identifying, managing, and mitigating consent-related risks and constraints.
    • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage multiple deadlines and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
    • Ability to provide technical environmental consenting advice to project and delivery teams.
    • Relevant CSCS Card.
    • Understanding of environmental impact assessment (EIA) commitments and experience of planning & facilitating additional assessments.
