GE Vernova's Power Conversion & Storage business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime, and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives, and control technologies.
As the Lead Wind Converter Upgrades Engineer, your role will be to carry out modernization work on wind turbine converter systems. You will venture to client sites as a member of a cross functional team carrying out upgrades. Although the main focus will be on upgrading existing wind convertors, this roll sits within the service organisation and there may be a requirement to work on other types of upgrade projects. Typical scope of these projects includes Medium Voltage & Low Voltage converters, motors, transformers, E house, switchgear, and control, as well as the associated power systems engineering.
This role combines office work with domestic and international travel (5-10% of work time spent traveling).
This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
