    YOUR ROLE

    We are looking for an experienced and organisedTechnical Solar Managerto join our growing team. This is an office-based position responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of our solar PV projects from design through to installation and completion.

    The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, support installation teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and work closely withdesign, suppliers, and internal departments to deliver high-quality renewable energy solutions.

    KEY RESPONSBILITIES

    • Managethe technical designof residential and commercial solar PV projects.
    • Reviewand approve system designs, layouts, and technical specifications.
    • Providetechnical support to surveyors, installers.
    • Ensureall projectscomply withcurrent regulations, MCS standards, DNO requirements, and health and safety legislation.
    • Liaisewith Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), manufacturers, and suppliers.
    • Monitorproject progress and resolve technical issues promptly.
    • Supportproduct selection and ensure equipment compatibility.
    • Keepup to date with industry developments, technologies, and legislation.
    • Assistwith training and mentoring technical staff whererequired.
    • Maintainaccurateproject documentation and technical records.

    SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    • Level 3 Award in the Installation and Commissioning of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems.
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and Inspection & Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
    • Knowledge of MCS standards, PAS 2030/2035 (where applicable), and DNO G98/G99 requirements.
    • Experience designing residential, commercial and industrial Solar PV and battery storage systems, including site surveys, shading analysis, yield calculations and technical feasibility assessments.
    • Proficient in producing system layouts, single-line diagrams and electrical schematics using solar design software (e.g. PVSol, EasyPV and SolarEdge Designer).
    • Ability to specify PV modules, inverters, optimisers, mounting systems and associated electrical equipment.
    • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, Health & Safety requirements and industry best practice.
    • Excellent problem-solving, technical reporting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
