    Swansea University is offering a fully funded PhD studentship in Gravitational Wave Cosmology, combining theoretical and experimental approaches to understanding the universe. The project is situated within the Department of Physics and Astronomy and focuses on developing computational and experimental techniques to explore the implications of gravitational wave observations for cosmology.

    The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research at the intersection of cosmology, general relativity, and astrophysical observations. Activities include modelling gravitational wave sources, analysing observational data, designing computational experiments, and contributing to the development of new methodologies for interpreting gravitational wave signals.     Eligibility Criteria

    A first-class or strong upper-second-class undergraduate degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline

    A Master's degree in Physics, Astrophysics, or a related field is desirable but not essential

    Strong motivation to pursue interdisciplinary research in theoretical and experimental cosmology

    Eligibility to meet UKRI or Swansea University funding requirements

    Required expertise/skills

    Experience with computational modelling or numerical simulations

    Analytical skills and familiarity with scientific programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB

    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific dissemination

    Salary details
    The studentship covers tuition fees at the UK rate and provides an annual stipend of £21,805 (tax-free)
