    Outline of role

    We are seeking an experienced PPM Project Manager to oversee the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contracts across a national portfolio of solar PV and renewable energy assets.

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance programmes are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations and industry compliance requirements. Working closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams, you will play a key role in maximising asset performance, maintaining strong customer relationships, and identifying opportunities for remedial works and future renewable energy projects.

    Main responsibilities

    Manage the planning and delivery of national solar PV maintenance programmes.

    Coordinate engineers and subcontractors across multiple locations.

    Ensure achievement of contractual KPIs, SLAs, and compliance standards.

    Review maintenance reports, inspection results, and performance data.

    Manage project budgets, costs, purchase orders, and supplier invoices.

    Prepare quotations for remedial works and identify opportunities for additional business.

    Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and performance reporting.

    Produce KPI dashboards, compliance reports, financial forecasts, and programme updates.

    Ensure all work complies with relevant health & safety, electrical, and industry regulations.

    Support continuous improvement initiatives, process efficiencies, and operational best practice.

    Provide guidance and support to engineers and junior team members where required.

    Knowledge and experience required

    Essential

    Previous Project Management experience within Building Services, Electrical, Facilities Management, or Renewable Energy sectors.

    Experience delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contracts.

    Strong client relationship management experience.

    Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and subcontractors.

    Good understanding of electrical systems and relevant health & safety legislation.

    Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.

    Drone licence with the ability to operate and undertake site inspections.

    Desirable

    Solar PV maintenance experience.

    Knowledge of battery storage systems and EV charging infrastructure.

    Experience working within retail or national maintenance environments.

    Familiarity with CAFM systems, Power BI, and Microsoft Project.

    Understanding of decarbonisation and sustainability programmes.

    Skills required

    Ability to analyse technical information and identify solutions.

    Effective planning, scheduling, and resource management.

    Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and reporting tools.

    Commitment to health & safety, quality, and customer service excellence

    Qualifications

    Essential

    HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent industry experience.

    Full UK Driving Licence.

    Valid Drone Licence and competency in drone operation.

    Desirable

    IOSH Managing Safely.

    SMSTS or SSSTS.

    Prince2 Practitioner or APM PMQ.

    NEBOSH General Certificate.

    BS7671 Awareness.

    MCS Awareness.

    Solar PV qualification (Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems, or equivalent).
