    About the Role
    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Manager to join a major infrastructure project based in Saxmundham, Suffolk. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity offering long-term career prospects for the right candidate.
    We are looking for a proactive Environmental Manager with a strong background in construction and sustainability to lead environmental compliance across a complex infrastructure project. Youll provide expert environmental guidance to project teams, ensure compliance with legislation and client requirements, and drive sustainability initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities
    Act as the environmental subject matter expert for the project team.
    Develop, implement and maintain the projects Environmental Management System (EMS).
    Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits and client requirements.
    Identify environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    Deliver environmental training and awareness across site teams.
    Carry out environmental audits, inspections and support external audits.
    Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
    Produce environmental reports, KPI data and sustainability performance updates.
    Support carbon reduction, biodiversity, waste reduction and wider sustainability initiatives.
    Promote environmental best practice and continuous improvement across the project.
    Attend client meetings and liaise with regulators and key stakeholders where required.
    Essential Skills & Experience
    Minimum 5 years experience in environmental management within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
    Professional membership with a recognised environmental body such as IEMA, CIWEM or CIWM.
    Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
    Experience assessing environmental aspects and impacts and implementing effective control measures.
    Good understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory compliance.
    Knowledge of sustainability principles including carbon reduction, circular economy, biodiversity, waste management and social sustainability.
    Experience conducting environmental audits and inspections.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
