  • Breeze Solar is developing next-generation cooling solutions to improve the efficiency and lifespan of photovoltaic systems. We're looking for a mechanical engineer with strong CFD, structural analysis, and CAD expertise to lead the simulation and design work behind our cooling technology.

    The Role

You will design, model, and simulate cooling solutions for solar panels end-to-end - from CAD geometry through CFD and structural analysis to validated prototype design. You will also play a key role in protecting our intellectual property by assisting with the patenting of the product. Your work will directly drive prototype iteration and product decisions.

    Responsibilities
    • Design cooling solution geometries in CAD and iterate on them based on simulation results
    • Build and run CFD simulations (steady-state and transient) of airflow and heat transfer around PV modules
    • Model conjugate heat transfer between panels, cooling media, and ambient environment
    • Perform structural analysis (FEA) of the cooling solution, including coupled thermal-structural and wind/load cases
    • Develop and validate thermal and structural models against experimental data
    • Assist with patenting the product: contribute to invention disclosures, technical drawings, and descriptions, and collaborate with patent counsel during prosecution
    • Collaborate with the hardware team on prototype design, manufacturing, and testing
    Requirements
    • MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
    • 3+ years of hands on CFD experience (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or similar)
    • Proven expertise in CAD design (SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar)
    • Strong experience with FEA and structural analysis, including coupled thermal-structural simulations
    • Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and turbulence modeling
    • Experience with meshing, solver setup, and post-processing
    • Ability to validate simulations against physical test data
    • Background in solar/PV thermal management
    • Scripting (Python, MATLAB) for automation and post-processing
    What We Offer
    • Competitive salary and equity
    • Fully remote position
    • Breeze Solar - Open Position
    • Direct ownership of a high-impact technical problem, including named inventorship on resulting patents
    • Collaborative team working on meaningful climate technology
