  • We are looking for an experienced Solar Roofer who can take the lead on roof-mounted PV installations, including structural mounting, weatherproofing, and all aspects of DC array wiring. This role is ideal for a roofer who has already worked on MCS-compliant installations and understands the UK codes of practice for solar PV systems.

    What You'll Be Doing:
    • Install solar PV arrays on residential and commercial roofs (pitched, slate, tile, metal, flat).
    • Perform complete roof-level DC wiring, including:
      • Module interconnections, string wiring, cable routing
      • DC isolators, connectors, optimisers/microinverters
      • Earthing/bonding of arrays and mounting structures
    • Ensure all installations meet MCS 020, MCS 012, manufacturer requirements, and the IET Code of Practice for Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems.
    • Work in accordance with:
      • BS 7671:2018 + A2:2022 (IET Wiring Regulations)
      • BS EN 62446-1:2016 + A1:2018(PV testing, inspection and documentation)
      • Building Regulations(Part A - Structure, Part C - Moisture, Part P - Electrical Safety)
    • Install mounting systems with correct structural fixings, flashings, and waterproofing.
    • Perform visual inspections and support electrical commissioning with the lead electrician.
    • Maintain clean, safe, and professional installation standards on every site.
    What We're Looking For:
    • Proven roofing experience (minimum 2+ years).
    • Experience installing solar PV systems on roofs.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of DC wiring and PV system components.
    • Understanding of MCS standards and UK solar codes of practice.
    • Ability to read installation drawings and cable schematics.
    • Competent at working at height, on ladders, scaffolding, and with fall-arrest equipment.
    • Full UK manual license held for a minimum of 1 year.
    • Experience completing MCS documentation on site (desirable)
    • CSCS card / Working at Height certification (desirable)
    • Electrical knowledge or electrical training (Level 2/3 is an advantage - desirable)
