    What you'll do

    • Three years' or more experience is required for this role.

    • Assist in delivering development planning projects across the country.

    • Obtain, analyse, and interpret traffic data from a range of external sources.

    • Appraise development sites in terms of their accessibility by a range of transport modes.

    • Undertake junction capacity assessments.

    • Produce high quality reports including Technical Notes, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Environmental Statement chapters and Travel Plan reports, in part or in full.

    • Design highway improvement schemes.

    • Manage your own projects and clients, with as much support and training as needed.


    Qualities & attributes

    • A degree qualification in a relevant field and genuine interest and enthusiasm for transport planning.

    • Have a thorough understanding of the principles of transport planning and a demonstrable track record of delivering high quality input.

    • Good problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent presentation and technical writing skills.

    • The ability to manage your own time to meet project deadlines and budgets.

    • The ability to use relevant industry-standard software packages.

    • An understanding of the application of highway design standards, guidance and policy.

    • Good technical ability.

    • A positive attitude.
