    Role: Environmental Health Manager

    Location: Chorley

    Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent

    Salary: £51,356 - £52,413 (plus 6% car allowance)

    Are you a driven and experienced Environmental Health professional ready to lead a high performing team? We're looking for an Environmental Health Manager to play a key leadership role in delivering vital public protection services and improving environmental standards across our communities.

    This is an exciting opportunity to shape service delivery, influence strategy, and make a real difference to public health, housing, and environmental quality.

    Responsibilities
    • Leading and supporting the Environmental Health team to deliver a high quality, customer focused service
    • Overseeing a wide ranging service covering housing, public health, food safety, environmental protection and community safety
    • Managing day to day operations, ensuring workloads are prioritised and performance targets are met
    • Making informed decisions on enforcement action and overseeing complex investigations and legal cases
    • Providing expert advice on planning, licensing and environmental impacts
    • Driving service improvements and delivering projects aligned to corporate priorities
    • Managing budgets, resources and external contractors to ensure value for money
    • Working closely with partners to safeguard vulnerable residents and support wider community outcomes
    Qualifications
    • A qualified Environmental Health professional with strong technical knowledge
    • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team
    • Confident in managing enforcement activity and complex casework
    • A strong communicator with sound judgement and a proactive, solutions focused approach
    • Committed to delivering high standards and making a positive impact in local communities
