    Location: Working from our Peterborough service point. Supporting wind farms across surrounding counties.

    Hours: Core hours are 37 per week (Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm; Friday 8am-1pm) with a requirement to work overtime when needed.

    Our Service Technicians are required to be available for any breakdowns and faults at the weekend, working on call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on team size). Overtime is paid time and a half, and you receive an additional payment for the weekend you are on call. Successful candidates must live within a radius of up to one hour from the windfarm.

    Responsibilities

    As a Wind Turbine Service Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines covering turbines within the Peterborough and surrounding area. You will carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting, and fault finding activities to ensure our wind turbines continue to achieve a high level of availability.

    You will be responsible for turbine availability, which means physically troubleshooting turbines not performing to capacity on various wind farms, analysing data and other information to create and support action plans that increase fleet performance.

    Key Responsibilities
    • On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
    • Working closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on the job demonstrations
    • Supporting on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
    • Providing on site software & hardware updates
    • Supporting online and phone technical support
    • Creating reports on turbine or turbine components
    • Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary
    Qualifications & Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have experience working in the mechanical/electrical industry and be able to demonstrate knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagrams.

    You will be mechanically or electrically trained through time served or a technical college qualification, at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

    You will be able to demonstrate that you can identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions to problems.

    • Computer literate and confident in using MS Office packages, in house databases, and workload management systems
    • Ability to work at heights, up to 140 m; fit and healthy, must pass a working at height test
    • Willingness to travel on an occasional basis, including nights away from home
    • Full UK/EU Driving Licence required
