    Salary: £34,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience plus 8% pension contribution

    Responsible To: Head of Nature Recovery - Northern Ireland

    Location: Hybrid working: mainly home based, with occasional time at the Derrygonnelly field office. Occasional travel across Northern Ireland and cross border.

    Duration: Fixed term until 31st July 2029

    Hours: 37 hours per week (1 FTE)

    Job Purpose
    • Oversee the delivery of Butterfly Conservation's Limestone Grassland PEACEPLUS project, which forms part of PeacePlus Nature in Northern Ireland.
    • Line manage, support and ensure full compliance of the project team, and report on Butterfly Conservation's PeacePlus Nature project.
    • Lead on engaging and developing effective partnerships with key stakeholders and statutory agencies in identified priority landscapes forming part of 'PeacePlus Nature'.
    • Engage with a broad range of stakeholders to provide management advice and develop pathways of access to the information they need to manage land sympathetically for priority habitats and species identified in the PeacePlus Nature project.
    Main Responsibilities
    • Project manage Butterfly Conservation's PeacePlus Nature project: take ownership of project budget and procurement; oversee project reporting and liaison with RSPB (Lead Partner) & funding bodies as needed; represent Butterfly Conservation on the 'Limestone Grassland Project Board' and other Steering Groups as required.
    • Line manage the PeacePlus Nature project team (including a Limestone Grassland Landscape Officer & Engagement & Volunteering Officer) to successfully deliver all project outcomes, and support the team, including through the delivery of annual appraisals, quarterly reviews, and monthly 1:1's.
    • Drive delivery of the PeacePlus Nature project through supporting and mentoring the project team, managing and developing effective partnerships with key stakeholders, and leading from the front in a professional manner.
    • Work closely with the Head of Nature Recovery - Northern Ireland to provide updates on project delivery and compliance with the PeacePlus Nature grant agreement.
    • Through line management of the Limestone Grassland Landscape Officer, ensure all activities carried out on designated sites and priority habitat have secured relevant permissions from the statutory authorities and are monitored and reported on to completion.
    • Promote best practice management advice for PeacePlus Nature priority species through collaboration with Butterfly Conservation's wider advisory services and oversee production of digital and printed assets, including advice notes and case studies.
    • Work with the PeacePlus Nature project team to deliver workshops and presentations for partners, landowners, volunteers and community groups on Lepidoptera conservation and management advice, with a focus on the understanding of landscape-scale conservation.
    • Disseminate the impact of Butterfly Conservation's work, including by giving presentations, giving media interviews, preparing reports, and posting on social media.
    • Help build volunteer capacity in Northern Ireland to play a greater part in the conservation of priority species and support the legacy of the project.
    • Support the delivery of Butterfly Conservation's Engagement & Volunteering strategic aims, to focus work to connect people to nature and to reach people from a broader range of backgrounds.
