    Salary: NJC Grade 5

    Contract Type: Permanent

    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08.30 to 15.45 . Term time only

    Location: Ifield, Crawley

    What You Need to Succeed
    • A positive, enthusiastic and confident approach, with a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of children with additional and complex needs.
    • The ability to work effectively as part of a professional team, supporting teaching and learning across the school.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
    • Flexibility and resilience to respond to a range of needs in a busy, varied and sometimes challenging environment.
    • An understanding of how to support children's personal, social and emotional development, including managing behaviour effectively and safely.
    • A willingness to attend to pupils' personal care needs and to support therapy or medical programmes following appropriate training.
    • Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction while also using initiative.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and to upholding the school's values and safeguarding standards.

    This role involves regular contact with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended). However, certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected' and do not need to be disclosed, and if disclosed, will not be taken into account.
