Conduct in-depth legal research on existing interventions by elephant range states.
Perform a comprehensive literature review of global wildlife crime cases, with a special focus on Indian instances where legal measures have supported elephant conservation and human-wildlife coexistence.
Analyze legal frameworks and interventions related to elephant conservation and develop a detailed report.
Identify ongoing wildlife crime cases involving elephants in coordination with WTI's lead legal counsel where legal or compensatory actions could be applied.
Draft targeted case summaries related to compensation measures.
Collaborate with WTI's forest counsels across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal, and Uttarakhand to collect data on relevant cases.
Conduct stakeholder coordination and online research to gather information on compensatory policies and practices.
Participate in field visits, attend legal meetings, and engage with project teams as needed.
Assist with drafting technical and donor reports for ongoing projects.
Open to law students enrolled in a 5-year integrated course, 3-year LL.B., or LL.M.
Candidate must be available to work on-site at WTI's Noida office.
