  • Green Economy, part of The Growth Company (GC) is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Learning design trainer to lead and deliver our Net Zero training offer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone dedicated to sustainability and supporting organisations on their journey to achieving net zero goals.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging training programmes that support businesses, local government and individuals in understanding and implementing net zero practices. You will work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure our training offer is current, effective, and impactful.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide strategic oversight and proactive management of the Green Economy events and training programme to ensure high quality delivery.
    • Design, develop and oversee the delivery of effective, up to date training aligned to GM Net Zero aspirations and business needs.
    • Maintain a full overview of programme performance, providing regular reports and updates to commissioners.
    • Work closely with marketing teams to drive engagement and uptake in line with programme objectives.
    • Lead financial management of the programme, ensuring value for money and effective budget control.
    • Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure KPIs, outputs and compliance requirements are met.
    • Collaborate with internal leads to align training and events with wider Green Economy and Net Zero strategy.
    • Ensure all activity is delivered in line with Health & Safety legislation and Growth Company policies.
    About You
    • An experienced programme or project manager with a strong background in training delivery or economic development.
    • Confident leading complex, multi stakeholder programmes in a publicly funded environment.
    • Experienced in managing teams, delivery partners and subcontractors to achieve high performance.
    • Skilled in balancing strategic oversight with hands on programme and performance management.
    • Commercially and financially astute, with experience managing budgets and public funds.
    • Able to influence, challenge and negotiate effectively with senior stakeholders.
    • Proactive, solutions focused and comfortable working in a changing policy environment.
    • Committed to embedding Growth Company values in everything you do.
    Skills Required
    • Excellent training design and delivery skills across the environmental and Net Zero agenda.
    • Strong analytical, reporting and performance monitoring capability.
    • Proven experience applying test and learn methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
    • Advanced planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
    • Well developed IT skills including MI systems, CRM tools and MS Office applications.
    • Strong written and verbal communication, including producing clear reports and presentations.
    • Effective stakeholder management and partnership working skills.
    • Knowledge of public sector funding, compliance, audit and contract management.

    We are currently unable to provide sponsorship for work permits or visas. Therefore, we can only consider candidates who already have the legal right to work in the UK.
