Carbon Manager - Ipswich, United Kingdom. Contract: Permanent. Full Time. Hybrid remote/on-site. Occasional travel required. Requisition ID: 3169. Information at a glance: CWA (Civil Works Alliance) is delivering Sizewell C, a major low-carbon infrastructure project expected to generate 3.2 GW of clean electricity for around 6 million homes.

You will be the subject matter expert in carbon management within the ESG team, reporting to the Head of ESG Compliance and Reporting. You will drive the carbon agenda for Sizewell C, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, PAS 2080 and RICS-aligned Whole Life Carbon Assessment standards.

• Ensure full alignment with PAS 2080, RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment and relevant industry frameworks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to gather, validate and interpret complex data.
• Translate technical carbon data into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders and the supply chain.
• Embed low-carbon thinking into design, procurement and delivery at every stage.
• Lead whole life carbon assessments using industry-standard tools such as One Click LCA and advanced Excel models.
• Develop and implement PAS 2080 constructor-aligned carbon strategies and reporting.
• Identify and realise opportunities to reduce carbon across the project lifecycle.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and version control to ensure quality and traceability.
• Share knowledge and build capability within the ESG team.
• Stay up to date with the latest tools, benchmarks and methodologies in carbon and lifecycle analysis.
• Engage with the supply chain to support data provision and identify further carbon reduction opportunities.

• Deep knowledge of carbon frameworks including PAS 2080, RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment and current legislation.
• Proven experience leading carbon strategies for complex projects or organisations.
• Proficiency in whole life carbon tools and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Ability to work with complex data, producing meaningful insights for diverse teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
• Determination, excellent planning and organisational skills, and resilience in the face of complexity.
• Understanding of the circular economy, material reuse strategies and low-carbon design in the built environment.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
• A degree (or equivalent) in an environmental, carbon or sustainability discipline, engineering or a related field.

It would be an advantage to have experience on large infrastructure projects and/or postgraduate qualifications.
