    Rate: £19.54 per hour
    Contract: Minimum 2 months

    Working Arrangements

    You will be required to attend the Cardiff office twice per week for the first two weeks for training. Following this, the role will be primarily remote with occasional office attendance as required.

    We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Data Analyst to join our client's organisation on a short-term project based in Cardiff. Working within a specialist environmental team, you will play a key role in reviewing and analysing complex environmental data and internal reports, supporting evaluations across multiple river catchment areas and providing valuable insight to inform decision making.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong scientific background who is equally confident working with data, systems, and analytical tools.

    The Role

    You will play a key role in evaluating environmental data and supporting in house assessments across 10 river catchment areas. The position will involve reviewing detailed internal reports, analysing both quantitative and qualitative information, and contributing to the development of accurate and insightful documentation.

    You will also liaise with internal stakeholders to gather additional context and ensure all findings are clearly interpreted and presented.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and evaluate internal environmental reports
    • Analyse large datasets, identifying trends and key insights
    • Translate quantitative data into meaningful qualitative analysis
    • Work closely with internal teams to gather and validate information
    • Support the production of clear, structured documentation and reports
    • Carry out in house evaluations to support environmental planning work

    About You

    • Degree or PhD in a relevant scientific field such as Marine Biology, Geography, Biology, or Geology
    • Strong analytical skills with confidence interpreting complex data
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI
    • Comfortable working with both data and written reports
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage internal stakeholders
    • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
