    • Manage the design process of Renewables projects ensuring clients' requirements, standard practices and specifications are being adhered to whilst ensuring commercial viability for the company
    • Provide strong technical knowledge to ensure contracts are delivered in compliance with Employers Requirements, specifications and drawings, as well as to the highest possible standards
    • Assist with preparation of Energy & Renewables Tenders and Tender submissions.
    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    As Estimating & Design Manager within the Energy & Renewables Division you will be expected to demonstrate an excellent level of technical knowledge, including a good working knowledge of Electrical regulations. The main duties and responsibilities include:

    • Design of Solar PV systems using PvSOL Software based on information provided by Commercial Manager- Half hourly data, Roof sizes, etc.
    • Attend site to ascertain electrical infrastructure requirements for design and estimation
    • Produce bill of quantities for estimation and ensure design proposals can be coordinated withing the existing structural and services installations.
    • Complete estimation of project costs and issue quotation to client / commercialmanager
    • Procure and source quotations for materials and specialist subcontract e.g. HV works, SCADA & Switchgear
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients
    • Manage and liaisewith NIE and other DNOs for G98 notifications and G99 applications
    • Liaise with CAD technicians to produce accurate CAD drawings
    • Manage relationship with MCS/NICEIC for Solar PV, BESS and Heat pump certifications and assist in the management of compliance acrossthe Energy and Renewables divisionensuring compliancewith statutory and non-statutory regulations
    • Working with the commercial team to ensure financial certainty on final bid submissions
    • Liaising with specialist supply chain partners to ensure their bid submissions are compliant
    • Value engineer and rationalise designs to improve both the buildability and commercially viability of the project.
    • Conduct technical audits, feasibility studies, and risk reviews of Electrical services.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical building standards, regulations (e.g., BS7671, BS5266, UK Building Regs), and company procedures.
    • Review of all drawings and schedules prior to issue to our clients for their comments/approvals
    • Preparation & issuing of technical submittals for client/design team review. Ensure close out of any retrospective comments and handover full design pack to the Operations team with closed out technical approval.
    • Attending meetings with main contractors/clients and leading communications flow with Commercial Teams, Operations teams and specialist supply chain partners
    • Assist Operations Team and purchasing department with project procurement ensuring specifications and drawing requirements are being complied with.

    Criteria
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role, with a proven track record and experience in all aspects of Energy & Renewables installations and regulations
    • Strong knowledge of all electrical and associated specialist systems including life safety and communications systems.
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to work to a plan to avoid disappointments.
    • Good interpersonal skills to create meaningful reciprocal relationships with both colleagues and clients
    • Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
    • HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering
    • Use of specialist software packages such as CAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM workflows
