    £50,000-£60,000 + Excellent Benefits

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to oversee all aspects of EHS across our Berwick Upon Tweed-based food production site. This is an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful change, ensure compliance, and promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety and environmental responsibility.

    Role Responsibilities
    • Develop and maintain the site EHS management system, ensuring compliance with legislation, corporate standards and industry best practice.
    • Lead EHS strategy, setting clear objectives and KPIs aligned with business goals.
    • Provide leadership and coaching to the EHS team, driving a proactive and positive safety culture.
    • Oversee risk assessments, safe systems of work and environmental controls to ensure effective risk management.
    • Manage relationships with regulators, auditors and external partners, ensuring inspection readiness and compliance.
    • Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.
    • Maintain accurate EHS records, including incidents, training and environmental performance metrics.
    • Ensure emergency preparedness, fire safety and crisis management arrangements are effective and up to date.
    • Monitor environmental performance across waste, water and energy, supporting sustainability objectives.
    • Work closely with operational teams to embed EHS standards into daily activities and drive continuous improvement.
    Qualifications
    • Relevant advanced qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Sustainability (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
    • Proven ability to lead safety and environmental projects within a manufacturing or process environment.
    • Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence all levels of the organisation.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement effective actions.
