Our Client is seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Solar Designer to join their growing team. They are a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions and are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solar designs that meet the needs of our commercial clients.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for commercial buildings, includingRoof-mounted system , Ground-mounted system , Carport-mounted systems.
Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to determine the optimal solar system configuration.
Create detailed technical drawings and specifications using industry-standard software (e.g., PV Sol AutoCAD, PVSyst, SketchUp).
Prepare system sizing calculations, performance simulations, and energy yield estimates.
Develop bill of materials (BOM) for solar system components.
Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Stay up-to-date on the latest solar technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.
Support sales and marketing efforts by providing technical expertise and design proposals.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in designing commercial solar PV systems.
Strong understanding of solar energy fundamentals, including system components, sizing, and performance analysis.
Proficiency in using CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) and solar design software (PVSol PVSyst, SAM).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Valid UK driving license.
Knowledge of relevant building regulations and industry standards (e.g., MCS, IET).
