  • A renewable energy consultancy and EPC, specialising in community solar and BESS, is seeking an electrical design engineer. Working with a purpose-driven and progressive organization, this role is an opportunity to boost your career in renewable energy engineering with a dynamic and collaborative team.

    TheDesign Engineerrole would suit an Engineer III with 6 years of ground mount solar experience who is hands on, detail oriented, and able to provide guidance above entry level engineers and interns. The role combines technical design work with collaboration across developers, project managers, and field teams - prior renewable energy experience is required for this role, particularly solar PV.

    As a key contributor, you will:

    • Develop and review single line diagrams, site plans, and electrical design drawings.
    • Perform detailed calculations to establish construction standards and specifications.
    • Prepare, review, and QA/QC technical drawings and documents to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
    • Plan system layouts for renewable energy construction projects.
    • Conduct field surveys, review diagrams, and analyze power system data to identify and resolve issues.
    • Collaborate with both in house team members and external project developers to ensure successful project execution.
    • Provide technical guidance during construction activities to maintain compliance and quality standards.
    • Inspect completed installations for conformance with design and equipment specifications.
    • Compile data and prepare engineering reports and project studies.
    • Operate engineering and design software (AutoCAD, PV software) to perform technical tasks.
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers, designers, and interns as they develop their skills.
    Candidate Skillset and Traits
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, architectural or related discipline).
    • Experience withsolar PV projects(ideally ground mount utility).
    • Proficiency withAutoCAD.
    • Familiarity or hands on experience withPVcaseandPVsyst(capacity testing).
    • Strong mix of technical skill and people skill; able to collaborate effectively across stakeholders.
    • Creative problem solver with the ability to innovate.
    • Tracks record of strong role tenure and career development.
    • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
    • PE license not required, but a plus.
    Candidate Background
    • Renewable energy developer, EPC, IPP or utility sector transitioning into renewables.
    Location
    • Midwest, ideally Minnesota or Wisconsin.
    Compensation & Benefits
    • Salary range:$120,000 - $130,000per annum plusperformance and retention bonus .
    • 4 weeks PTOwith 6 years of experience.
