Solar PV Maintenance Technician
Location: Midlands / South Midlands (ideally based between Ampthill and Coventry/Leamington Spa)
We are seeking an experienced Solar PV Maintenance Technician to join a UK-based specialist in commercial solar operations and maintenance. You'll work on a variety of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems across the UK, supporting system performance, safety, and reliability. This is a field-based role with regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
You'll be responsible for: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on solar PV systems Diagnosing and rectifying faults on PV modules, inverters, DC/AC cabling, and associated equipment Undertaking electrical testing, inspections, and performance assessments Identifying, documenting, and reporting defects, degradation, or safety issues Completing maintenance reports, test results, and site documentation accurately and on time Liaising professionally with clients, site managers, and internal teams Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards Travelling regularly to sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays as required
You'll have previous experience working with solar PV systems (commercial and/or utility-scale preferred) and relevant electrical qualifications. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically capable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in the field while representing the business professionally.

Essential Requirements: Proven experience working with solar PV systems (commercial and/or utility-scale preferred) Relevant electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to work at height and outdoors in varying weather conditions Full UK driving licence Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
Desirable (Not Essential): 18th Edition Wiring Regulations ECS/CSCS card (or willingness to obtain) Previous experience in O&M or field-based maintenance roles Knowledge of PV monitoring systems and performance data analysis HV/LV authorisations First Aid and IPAF certifications (training can be provided)
