Electrical Engineer - Offshore Wind

  • Recruiter: Bennet & Boss
  • Job posted: 30/11/25
  • Reference: 3036779258
  • Type: Permanent
  • Salary: Competitive
  • Job location: Netherlands
  • As an Electrical Engineer, you design and deliver LV/MV power, drives and control systems for ram-luffing and special-purpose cranes used in harsh marine/wind environments. You'll own your scope from concept and detailed design through supplier follow-up, verification/validation and CE compliance while improving templates and workflows along the way.

    What you'll do:

    • Convert functional specs into electrical concepts, block diagrams and detailed EPLAN schematics (single/multi-line, wiring, cable lists, I/O).
    • Perform load/diversity, short-circuit and selectivity studies; size cables, breakers, transformers and protection.
    • Specify motors, VFDs, starters, switchgear and instrumentation for LV/MV systems.
    • Engineer rotating equipment and motion/drive systems for hoist, luffing, slew and auxiliaries.
    • Prepare BOMs and purchase specs; review vendor proposals and guide panel builders and other suppliers.
    • Conduct shop inspections and Acceptance Testing (FAT); support construction, installation and site start-up.
    • Execute risk assessments (ISO 12100) and contribute to functional safety (IEC 62061/ISO 13849) and CE files.
    • Act as electrical work-package lead: plan deliverables, track progress, manage changes and inform stakeholders.
    • Identify and implement workflow/EPLAN template improvements to speed design-to-installation.

    What you bring:

    • BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Power/Drives/Automation (or similar).
    • 2+ years' experience (mid/senior also welcome) in LV/MV design for heavy machinery, cranes, marine/offshore or similar.
    • Strong in EPLAN P8 and reading/producing detailed electrical drawings and panel layouts.
    • Hands-on with Siemens drives and TIA Portal/WinCC; comfortable with industrial networks (PROFINET/Profibus).
    • Solid grasp of protection coordination, earthing/bonding and marine/industrial environment constraints.
    • Supplier management and shop-inspection experience; willing to make short trips for FAT/site commissioning.
    • Strong English communication; Dutch or German is a plus.
    • VCA (or willingness to obtain); offshore medical/BOSIET beneficial.
