EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
At Severn Trent we operate an established, rigorous and robust governance framework encompassing our approach to risk management, compliance and assurance. As a public service and regulated entity, our framework is designed to ensure transparency, as we balance the needs of our customers and compliance with regulatory obligations.
We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of information rights legislation, including the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, confident written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You'll need the credibility to advise teams on complex issues and the judgement to recognise risks and reputational sensitivities.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, helping us uphold our commitment to openness, accuracy and fairness in how we communicate with the public.
Our new Environmental Information Regulations Officer will join our compliance team, located within our General Counsel directorate. This role offers a unique opportunity to dive into the heart of our business operations-an area that resonates deeply with our customers and consistently captures media attention.
The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 provide public access to environmental information held by public authorities. These Regulations give people a right of access to information about the activities of public authorities that relate to or affect the environment.
We receive a large number of Environmental Information Requests from various external sources, who are looking to obtain data to support their interests, relating to a wide variety of activities.
