Description
Job Purpose:
The post holder is responsible for delivering a range of regulatory enforcement services. This will include the strategic implementation and operational delivery of teams covering environmental health (commercial food safety, environmental protection including the noise service), health and safety, licensing including licensing and management of Barking town centre trading market, animal welfare.
The post holder will be the Council's expert on regulatory and enforcement services, and will advise on relevant legal responsibilities, policy and strategy and changes in legislation. The post holder will support the development of the Council's strategic direction with regard to enforcement and regulatory control functions.
Specific Accountabilities of the Role:
General Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation, Council Policies, Standing Orders, Financial Regulations and other requirements of the Council.
Experience:
Proven track record of delivery, development and successful management of excellent regulatory services delivered in partnership with the community and others in a customer focused manner.
Substantial experience of local authority regulatory service within an Environmental Health / Regulatory setting.
Experience of budget management and of budget based decision making.
Managing organisational change including analysing and researching trends
Leading on the implementation and the construction of innovative solutions to customer complaint issues.
