Location - Swanley / Kent

Alecto Recruitment Ltd are currently recruiting for a commercially astute and experienced Estimator to join a reputable and leading client of ours within the growing solar PV industry, focusing on new build developments and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for solar PV systems on residential and commercial developments.
• Interpret architectural drawings, M&E plans, and specifications to define project scope.
• Collaborate with developers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to clarify requirements and propose value-engineered solutions.
• Perform take-offs and calculate costs for materials, labour, and equipment based on system design and site conditions.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Contribute to bid submissions, tender interviews, and pre-construction meetings.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, electrical standards, and DNO (G98/G99) requirements.
• Conduct or support site surveys to assess feasibility and scope.
• Monitor market trends and pricing to maintain competitiveness.
• Assist in project handovers to operations and delivery teams.

What We Are Looking For:

• Proven experience as an Estimator in solar PV, construction, electrical contracting, or M&E sectors.
• Ideally understanding of solar PV systems, including design, mounting, inverters, and battery storage. (however training can be provided).
• Experience working on new build developments preferred and coordinating with main contractors.
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating/project software.
• Knowledge of UK building regulations, SAP for renewables, and grid connection processes.
• Full UK driving licence (for site visits).
