    Job Description

    Our Impact Assessment Practice Area (IAPA) team is recruiting a graduate in Birmingham for a June Sept 2026 start.

    About our Team

    IAPA is part of the Environment & Sustainability (E&S) business with 730 staff across the UK and Republic of Ireland. IAPA work includes coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs across infrastructure development projects, working with clients and design teams to identify constraints, preparing assessment reports, and supporting projects post planning consent during construction and operation.

    Projects

    We deliver Environmental Impact Assessments for national infrastructure projects in sustainable energy generation, transmission, and water distribution.

    Qualifications
    • A relevant first degree (and potentially a postgraduate degree) in environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, environmental management, environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, geography, housing (sustainable, planning, regeneration and urban management), social science, sustainable development, or similar.
    • A good understanding of digital solutions to tackle environment and sustainability challenges.
    • Willingness and ability to travel; a full driving licence or reliable transport is beneficial.
    • Ability to work flexibly under pressure, responding to changing project and programme demands.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written, fluent in English) and the confidence to engage a variety of people.
    • Team working, time management, and strong research and report writing skills.
    • Strong numerate skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and self starter initiative.
    • Commercial awareness for business development, marketing, and proposal preparation.
