Are you ready to take a lead role in maintaining and supporting cutting-edge renewable energy technologies?
Were looking for a Lead Service Technician to support and service solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the UK. This role is hands-on, field-based, and perfect for a qualified electrician with leadership capabilities and a passion for sustainable solutions.
Deliver service, warranty, and maintenance support for solar PV and battery storage systems
Attend weekly planning meetings to coordinate upcoming workloads
Prepare for site visits by organising and securing tools, equipment, and stock
Ensure all vehicle loading, unloading, and transit paperwork is accurate and complete
Supervise subcontractors or team members on-site
Liaise with equipment manufacturers to confirm system commissioning and troubleshoot issues
Maintain accurate job records using mobile apps and request customer feedback
Ensure all worksites are left clean, safe, and to a high standard
Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding job status, issues, and updates
Assist with warehouse tasks and customer service when office-based
Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and promote safe working practices
Operate a company vehicle in compliance with UK driving laws
Work at height or in confined spaces as required
Participate in occupational health assessments and training programs
Essential:
Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 2/3, C&G 2365 or equivalent)
Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical roles
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and mobile applications
Customer-focused with a courteous and professional attitude
Full UK driving licence with a good driving record
High awareness of risk assessment and Health & Safety protocols
Physically fit and capable of manual handling (training provided)
Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
Desirable:
First Aid qualification
Experience in solar PV and battery energy storage systems
Confined space or working-at-height experience
Familiarity with mobile workforce platforms or field service tools
