Project Manager (Solar & BESS)

We re working with a leading renewable energy contractor expanding its UK operations, seeking an Solar & BESS Project Manager to join their high-performing team. You ll manage the delivery of commercial & utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across the UK from pre-construction through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple solar PV and BESS projects
Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring delivery on time and to budget
Liaise with DNOs, consultants, and internal design teams to ensure technical compliance, including grid integration of BESS systems
Coordinate civil, electrical, and BESS installation works throughout the construction programme
Maintain strict HSEQ standards across all project phases
Monitor and report on project progress, risk, and cost to senior management
Support contract negotiations and procurement activities, particularly for battery systems and energy management technologies.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience in project management within the solar, BESS, or wider renewable energy sector
Solid understanding of the UK solar and battery storage project lifecycle ideally from a construction or EPC background
Familiarity with battery technology, energy storage system design, and grid compliance standards
Strong knowledge of HSEQ practices and CDM regulations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
