    Qair Africa, a subsidiary of Qair International, is expanding across the African continent through its various entities located in Morocco, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Chad, and Mauritius.

    With several completed projects, for example in Burkina Faso (24 MWp) and 18 MWp currently under construction, as well as in Chad (2 x 15 MWp under construction), the subsidiary is continuing its growth in Sub-Saharan Africa in other regions with new projects, both in the development phase and at the financial closing stage.


    Under the responsibility of the Sub-Saharan Africa Director of Qair Africa, the Renewable Energy Project Manager - Sub-Saharan Africa develops new renewable energy projects and ensures the management and follow-up of projects already in development or under construction, according to the assigned portfolio.


    The position is based in Montpellier, with regular travel to Sub-Saharan Africa. An expatriation to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, is planned between January and April 2026.

    Main Tasks



    The Renewable Energy Project Manager - Sub-Saharan Africa will have the following responsibilities:


    • Develop projects from pre-feasibility to the start of construction, and provide support until commissioning and operational launch;
    • Design economically viable projects within procedures and in compliance with national and international regulations, in coordination with local stakeholders;
    • Obtain or supervise the acquisition of all required administrative authorizations (land reservation, construction permits, operating licenses, power purchase agreements, etc.) and ensure proper follow-up;
    • Lead and coordinate the feasibility studies, including environmental impact assessments (including thematic studies) and technical sizing studies (wind/solar resource, grid connection, etc.), relying on internal and external experts, while ensuring adherence to project study budgets and timelines;
    • In collaboration with the finance team, contribute to the search for third-party financing, secure financing terms, ensure smooth audit processes, and, as a true project conductor, strive to finalize all required documentation to successfully close financing agreements within the expected timeframe;
    • Manage and coordinate (in close collaboration with the Sub-Saharan Africa Director) the actions of potential local partners or co-developers, ensuring effective and constructive relationships;
    • Initiate, organize, and lead work and presentation meetings, and ensure stakeholder consultation and information sharing for the projects;
    • Conduct active monitoring and identify tenders and calls for projects, and be able to respond to them with the team;
    • Prepare and write tailored proposals based on context, defend them to secure selection, and organize the company's positioning to expand the project portfolio;
    • Report on activity through periodic activity reports and monitoring tools provided;
    • Prepare project presentations and documentation for bank presentations;
    • In collaboration with support functions, prepare forecast budgets for the projects (studies and investments) and Business Plans in coordination with Group departments;
    • Contribute to project improvement and internal feedback processes.






    Skills Required






    The following skills are essential for the role:


    • Solid knowledge of developing large-scale Renewable Energy projects abroad;
    • Strong interpersonal and writing skills;
    • Strict commitment to ethical and compliance rules, particularly regarding the prevention of conflicts of interest and corrupt practices;
    • Fluency in French and English.



    The following skills will help your application stand out:


    • In-depth understanding of the renewable energy ecosystem in Sub-Saharan African countries;
    • High flexibility for business travel and willingness to consider expatriation;
    • Proficiency with standard IT tools and scheduling software.



    This position may not suit you if you do not enjoy methodical teamwork or if you are not comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
