Involve Recruitment are in search for a Solar Designer for our client a growing renewable energy contractor based in Greater Cardiff, specialising in solar PV systems for residential and commercial clients. We're seeking a skilled Solar Designer to support our clients expanding project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Design solar PV systems using PV Sol, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.
Conduct site assessments using satellite data or surveys
Create layouts, string sizing, SLDs, and energy yield reports
Ensure compliance with UK regulations (G98/G99, MCS)
Support DNO applications and technical documentation
Collaborate with project and installation teams
Requirements
Essential:
Proficiency in design software (PV Sol, AutoCAD)
Strong communication and attention to detail
Desirable:
Electrical engineering background
Experience designing solar PV systems
Experience with battery storage and DNO processes
