    We're looking for two dynamic Environmental Health Managers to work as part of the Residential Environmental Health Team, to help drive up standards across Islington's Private Rented Sector.

    This is your opportunity to take on a high impact leadership role at a pivotal time. With the expansion of our selective licensing scheme across 10 wards and new powers under the Renters' Rights Act 2025, you'll play a key role in shaping how we regulate, enforce, and improve housing conditions across the borough.

    The Role

    You'll lead a team of officers in either our proactive or reactive service, driving performance and delivering strong regulatory outcomes.

    What you will do
    • Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team
    • Drive inspections, investigations and enforcement action
    • Take ownership of complex cases, prosecutions and appeals
    • Act as a technical expert in housing legislation
    • Use data and insight to improve performance and outcomes
    • Lead on shaping policy, procedures, systems and service improvements
    • Support delivery of new powers under the Renters' Rights Act 2025
    About You
    • Environmental Health qualifications and experience in the regulation of the Private Rented Sector
    • Management or supervisory experience
    • A strong track record in enforcement and complex casework
    • Excellent knowledge of key housing legislation
    • The ability to lead teams, make decisions and drive results
    • Strong communication skills and a resident focused mindset
