SCADA Engineer Solar UK Wide Permanent
We re supporting a fast-growing renewable energy EPC as they expand their portfolio of utility-scale solar farms, microgrid systems and district heating networks across the UK.
They re now hiring an experienced SCADA Engineer to strengthen their technical delivery team and support multiple new-build projects from design through to commissioning.
The SCADA Engineer role will involve:
Taking ownership of system handover activities, ensuring all technical documentation is collated, accurate and ready for client sign-off
Reviewing technical specifications and requirements to support system design decisions
Working closely with internal procurement teams to advise on technical selections and supplier processes
Defining SCADA system architecture and coordinating interfaces with substations, DNO assets, PPC systems and external suppliers
Designing communication network architecture and supporting areas such as LAN configuration, cybersecurity considerations and bandwidth planning
Producing detailed engineering documentation including signal lists, communications matrices, IP mapping, block diagrams, cabling schedules and calculation notes
Supporting on-site activities during installation, testing, commissioning and system optimisation
Ensuring all work delivered is fully compliant with contractual, regulatory and industry standards
The successful SCADA Engineer will need:
Background in Electrical Engineering (degree or diploma)
Strong ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions
Knowledge of control panel design or industrial control systems
Confident communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
Solid IT capability, particularly MS Excel and general engineering software/tools
